Special instructions:

Before using the adhesive/sealant, the user must ensure that the substances/materials in the contact area (solid, liquid and gaseous) are compatible with the adhesive/sealant and do not damage or change it (e.g. discolour). In the case of substances/materials that are subsequently processed in the area of the adhesive/sealant, the user must clarify in advance that their ingredients or vapors cannot lead to any impairment or change (e.g. discoloration) of the adhesive/sealant. If necessary, the user must consult the respective manufacturer of the materials. For outdoor bonding exposed to moisture and/or UV radiation, we recommend using our hybrid adhesives such as OTTOCOLL M 500 or OTTOCOLL Allflex. An exception to this is the bonding of wood and wood-based materials exposed to weathering with subsequent protective coating in accordance with DIN EN 204 D4. Paints, lacquers, plastics and other coating materials must be compatible with the adhesive/sealant. Compatible with marble and natural stone and does not cause greasing or discolouration on these materials. Discoloration cannot be ruled out under UV exposure. The tools can be cleaned with OTTO Cleaner MP as long as the adhesive has not yet set. Hardened adhesive can only be removed mechanically. Not suitable for butt joint bonding of gypsum fiber boards. Not suitable for bonding glass, polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyamide (PA), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), bituminous, waxy or oily substrates or similar.

pre-treatment:

The surfaces to be bonded must be cleaned and any contaminants such as release agents, preservatives, grease, oil, dust, water, old adhesives/sealants and other substances affecting adhesion must be removed. Cleaning non-porous surfaces: Clean with OTTO Cleaner T (airing time approx. 1 minute) and a clean, lint-free cloth. Cleaning of porous substrates: Remove loose particles from surfaces mechanically, e.g. with a steel brush or a grinding wheel. Sand and dust off smooth surfaces. The adhesive surfaces must be clean, free of dust and grease and stable.

Processing:

It is sufficient to apply the Ottocoll P85 PU adhesive / PU assembly adhesive to one side. Possibly spread over the entire surface with a spatula or similar. Hardening occurs through a reaction with moisture. This produces small amounts of CO2, which causes the Ottocoll P85 PU adhesive / PU assembly adhesive to increase in volume. Fix the materials to be bonded until the Ottocoll P85 PU adhesive / PU assembly adhesive has fully cured. One of the substrates should be porous or water vapor permeable. The moisture required for curing can be achieved by lightly spraying with water. The bonding surfaces may be slightly damp but not wet. The joining of the parts to be bonded should take place as soon as possible, at the latest within the skinning time. The time to cure can be shortened by adding moisture and higher temperatures. Due to the large number of possible influences during processing and application, the processor must always carry out a test processing and application. The concrete use-by date is printed on the container
