Gluing skirting boards - this is how you proceed
The most important thing about baseboards is the texture of the substrate. This must be clean, smooth and dust-free. Also not conducive to gluing are wavy walls, because due to the different levels create tensions in the baseboard. However, special baseboard adhesive can remedy this, so that different levels can be compensated to some extent. Important for the selection is also for which surfaces this is suitable. Therefore always pay attention to the respective manufacturer information.
Let's go:
So pay particular attention to the underground, because that stands or falls the project sticking skirting boards. As I said, this must be clean, smooth and dust-free. If there are color noses or spatula burrs, simply beat them off with a spatula. In addition, take a vacuum cleaner with you, with which you can suck the accumulating dirt and with which you also descend the base areas.
Once the substrate has been prepared, you can start with the actual gluing work. Baseboards usually have a slight depression at the back. This is exactly where the glue can spread optimally without leaving the press. You do not necessarily have to work the entire skirting board with adhesive, but it is sufficient a punctual order, provided that the surface provides good conditions. If this is not the case, you must drive harder guns and apply the glue on the baseboard completely.
I wish you success!
